Tammy & Davey - Trash the Dress!

I shot Tammy & Davey's wedding back in June, the post shoot had been booked for August, however we certainly didnt get great weather in August & so it was postponed until September. Thankfully the weather was really good this time.

We headed out at teatime to get that nice golden glow & started at Seaton Sluice beach. I love this beach as it is usually very quiet, but due to the good weather it was quite busy with jet skis & people just out for the day. We then headed down to St Mary's to the rocks which is a particular favourite place of mine at the moment as I love the different textures of the rocks with the sea in the background, you could almost be anywhere!!

Tammy then mentioned she'd like to get in the water (obviously I was getting rather excited at this point & knew exactly what shots I wanted) so off to Tynemouth Longsands we went, we were starting to lose the light & by the time we arrived the beach was in shade so I had to use some fill in flash. The sun was setting fast behind St Georges church. Tammy & Davey walked into the sea to adjust to the temperature & then I got the shots I wanted :-) The beach was quite crowed with people watching but I think lying in the cold water was the only thing on Tammy's mind & she was oblivious to the onlookers.

Here are some of my favourites from their photo shoot.

Em Trashes the Dress!

Em is just a star when it comes to being photographed now. After shooting her wedding & then her post shoot, she is more than used to being photographed & just knows exactly what to do. We shot at various locations, each just a quick stop, out the car, get the shots & then off to the next location. One of our locations was an old abandoned warehouse which is fenced off to the public, however I really wanted some shots in here & so we managed to fit through a tiny gap in the fence & get some shots. This place is so creepy yet the perfect setting for a TTD shoot!! Broken windows, graffiti & flakey paint ;-)

The weather wasn't great but that comes with living in the North of England I guess! However the light was very balanced making my job easier!

Here are some of my favourites from Em's TTD shoot.

Hazel & Pete's Post Wedding shoot - Lake District

Hazel originally from the Lake District & Pete from Carlisle, what better place to head for their post shoot than west!

We left sunny Newcastle & headed west to the Lake District. A couple of hours later arrived along with heavy storm clouds & rain! After some lunch & a bit scout about for ideal locations to shoot, the sun came out but we could see this wasn't going to last very long & so quickly got to the first location when the rain came down. Thankfully it was very windy & the rain passed quite quickly.

With the shots captured we headed off to the next location & again it rained & we had to sit it out! The entire day was heavy rain then glorious sun on & off.

We headed down to the pier at sunset which was the real shot I wanted, however due to the clouds there was no sunset, although there were some great stormy clouds with some light. Personally I now think the stormy sky makes for a better image than the sunset would have been.

Here are some of the images from their shoot.

Emily & Michael's Post shoot

Emily has dreamt of having the perfect wedding since being a little girl & that she certainly did have up at Doxford Hall in July. Although we got some stunning images of her & Michael on their wedding day she opted for a post shoot to be taken at some striking locations where she has great childhood memories.

We travelled up past Alnwick into the hills, deep into Northumberlands beautiful countryside with spectacular views. The weather was fab although slightly windy.

We decided to stop for lunch & got some strange looks from some people as expected, it's not everyday you see a bride & groom walk into a cafe for a coffee & a snack, it was quite funny.

Here are some of my favourites from their shoot, stay tuned to see more of the lovely Emily "Trashing the Dress".
